Curriculum & learning

Introduction

Dar es Salaam Independent School  provides a full schooling programme for 3 to 18 year olds with the university entrance qualification of Cambridge Advance Levels for the oldest students.

The curriculum at DIS is based upon the programmes of the University of Cambridge International group, starting with Cambridge Primary and moving through to IGCSE, AS and A Level in the senior years. The integrated international programmes ensure a smooth transition through the years of schooling and provide the opportunity for students to succeed in a stimulating, externally validated and highly respected world-class educational programme.

Cambridge Pathway

Our Cambridge Pathway is for students aged 5 to 19. Its wide range of subjects and flexibility gives schools the chance to shape the curriculum so that it is exciting and relevant for their own students.

Cambridge Pathway students have the chance to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to achieve at school, university and beyond.

The four stages lead seamlessly from primary to secondary and pre-university years. Each stage – Cambridge PrimaryCambridge Lower SecondaryCambridge Upper Secondary and Cambridge Advanced – builds on the learners’ development from the previous one, but can also be offered separately.
